|Q||What is an Electronic Travel Authority?|
|A||An Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) provides authorisation to travel to and enter Australia and is electronically linked to your passport. You can enter Australia as many times as you want, for up to 3 months at a time, for up to 12 months after the visa is granted.|
|Q||What do I need to make an application?|
|A||You need your valid passport, email address and a credit card. We accepts payment by Mastercard or Visa.|
|Q||How do I apply for an ETA online?|
|A||You must be outside Australia and intending to visit for tourism or business purposes. You must hold a passport from one of the eligible countries or regions. (Please refer to the “How to Apply” page.) It is important that the details provided for your ETA application are exactly the same as they appear in your passport.|
|Q||How long can I stay In Australia?|
|A||The ETA will allow you to stay in Australia for a maximum of three months for each visit.|
|Q||I am planning a holiday for more than three months in Australia. What should I do?|
|A||You will need to apply for a visa which allows for a longer stay in Australia. For more information, visit www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1|
|Q||Do age restrictions apply?|
|A||No. Eligible passport holders of all ages can apply for an ETA.|
|Q||Can I include my children in the same online ETA application?|
No. All family members must make separate ETA applications. Even if your children travel on your passport, they will need an individual ETA application.
The online ETA system can be used to apply for an ETA for members of your family travelling with you provided they also meet all the online ETA eligibility criteria.
|Q||How long will my ETA take to process?|
In most cases, you will be informed by an email within 1~2 business days. Some applications may require additional processing.
If your application is not processed within 2 business days, check back via 'Check Status' to confirm if your application is approved.
|Q||What can I do if I make a mistake in my application?|
It is important that you are very careful when you enter your personal details. You will have an opportunity to review all the details you have provided and can change the details at any time until you confirm all details as correct. If you have made an error, it is important that you correct it before proceeding. Once you have confirmed the details, your credit card will be debited for the non-refundable service charge.
Nonetheless, If you find out later that you have made a mistake and contact us by an email we will give you one free second chance to re-apply for an ETA.
Note: If your ETA details do not match your passport details you might experience delays when boarding your aircraft or be refused entry into Australia.
|Q||What happens when applications are not approved?|
If your application is not approved you should finalize your application through the nearest Australian visa office.
|Q||My application for an ETA was unsuccessful, can i get a refund?|
|A||No. The service charge is non-refundable. However, if you are referred to an Australian visa office to follow up your application for an ETA, you will not be charged another ETA service fee.|
|Q||I am an Australian citizen with citizenship with other countires as well. Do I need an ETA to visit Australia?|
|A||Australian citizens have an automatic right of entry and do not need a visa or an ETA to enter Australia.|
|Q||Why am I not receiving emails?|
To ensure you receive emails from us:
· make sure that the email you use is still valid.
· check your email storage capacity is not full.
· check your email spam scanner will accept emails from us.
· check your email spam folder on a regular basis to ensure messages from us have not been incorrectly identified as spam.
· change the email encoding if you received emails which are illegible.
· check your application to ensure the email address you entered was entered correctly.
